Grandparents Day {Butterfly Footprint}

Since this year marked the first Grandparents Day to celebrate for all of our parents, I decided to make them each a little gift from Evie.

Enter Pinterest and a few adorable foot/hand print ideas that hit just right note of sweet, sentimental and, well.. free! :)

I decided to go for it while she was eating and strapped down in her high chair. I loaded her tray up with puffs and went to town painting her little bitty feet!

I love how they turned out! I did a few extras since I knew we might have some mess-ups. That way I could pick the best three (plus one for us!) to give out.

I thought about writing Happy Grandparents Day or her age, but in the end decided to keep it simple with just her name and year.

Thinking this would be an adorable yearly tradition!

Happy Grandparents Day!!

  2. Love the idea.....and LOVE your handwriting!! So, how early should I send you our Christmas cards to address?? :)

    Ok, so this comes with wicked, mad love for people with great handwriting. Me? Notsomuch. I pretty much make sure anything I can sign can be done with "dot letters" to hide my horrible scribbles!!!

    Love it!! And, don't be afraid to use her foot prints as a heart either. Adorable!!

  4. I was curious how you actually got the footprint on the paper. Did you have to practice a few times? Did you put the foot in the paint or did you actually paint the foot? Was she standing up or laying down when you did it? I want to make sure I get the imprint right because sometimes they end up looking like a big glob and not an actual foot

    1. Hi Emily! I had her in her high chair and painted her foot. I taped my paper to a book so it would be flat and sturdy, then stamped with her foot. I hope that helps! Practicing a few times is probably a good idea, too!

    2. Thanks! I will try to do that! My little girl is 4 months old, but I like the idea of doing this for her Daddy's first Father's Day
